We had 9 adults and 4 juniors fish Woods yesterday on a pretty nice day to be on the water. This was a little smaller tournout than the last two on Nickajack.
On the Junior side Hunter Ferguson took his third straight tourney with 5 fish for 11.18. He had big fish with a 5.39 largemouth. He took home $40 for first place, $20 for big fish and a Secret Weapon spinner bait and an All Pro rod for the win. Dakota Cantrell was second with 7.27. Weslee Elliott was third with his first 5 fish limit and 5.97 pounds. Hank Lowrie came in fourth with a tough day and 2.19 on two fish.
John Elliott got his first win of 2009 on the adult side with 12.44 pounds and also had the big fish with a 4.47. John got $242 for first place and $45 for big fish as well as a Secret Weapon spinner bait. Jake Davis was second and in the money with 10.60 taking home $100. Gene Cantrell was third with 9.12, Corey Carlisle was fouth with 8.45, Jerry Carlisle was fifth with 8.35. All the adults turned in limits except Jason Broadrick who caught plenty but as he said forgot how to count what was in the livewell and only turned in four. Thanks to Jason's bad math yours truely wasn't last! emoDance
Our next tourney is May 2 on Center Hill out of Ragland Bottoms. This is a regular tourney for adults and an open tourney for juniors. So if an adult wants to just coach a junior all day they can guide their junior and see what NBT is all about. If an adult wants to fish they must join at the ramp if they're not a member.
