We had our best turnout of the year for adults with 14 and our fourth junior turnout of 7 kids of the season. Fishing was tough for most as the bite was slow. The three fish I caught wouldn't have made one good one.
Bill Hoosier won the adult side with 5 fish for 9.10 for $306. New member Rick Sanson had second with 5 for 6.44 and the big fish of 4.22 for a total prize of $225. Gene Cantrell was third with 5 for 5.62 for $71. 12 of the 14 placed and improved points.
On the junior side only two came to the scales with 1 fish each. Weslee Elliott broke Hunter Ferguson's 4 tourney win streak with a 1.96 largemouth. It was Weslee's first win and the look on his face was priceless as he didn't know until I read the results. Weslee got an All Pro rod, $58 for first place and $35 for big fish. Hunter took second with 1 for .87 earning him $18. All juniors went home with tackle packs and Sonic gift certificates. (Thanks Monteagle Sonic!)
Also added two new junior members. CorrieAnn Hickerson and Logan Stewart joined to go with Mr. Sanson. The district continues to grow.
Right now we have 13 adults and 8 juniors qualified for the district championship and the TN Bonus Bucks. Remember you must qualify within the district to be eligible for the Bonus Bucks at the district championship. Still planning $500 for first adn $250 for second on the adults and $200 for first and $100 for second on the juniors. Hoping to add $$ to the Angler of the Year prizes as well.
Also with 3 tournaments left anyone can join and qualify for next year's Nationals on Chickamauga.
