What a day on Tims! First we had a great turnout for the first tourney of 11 adults and 4 juniors. The weather was supposed to be closer to 50 but the front dipped south and whipped us all day long. It also made the fishing very tough all day. None of the juniors turned in fish and voted to get their $15 dollars back at the end of the day. I gave them the chance to draw for the $40 and $20 but I'm sure they all felt they deserved some kind of pay for the miserable day. All juniors received tackle packs courtsey of Castle's Outdoors in Whitwell.

On the adult side Brent Sain took first place with 3 fish totalling 7.57. New member John David Meeks got the second place check with 2 for 5.96 and he also took big fish with a 3.13. Jake Davis took home third place (enough for gas he said) with 1 fish for 2.21. Richard Martinez was the only other angler to turn in a fish with 1 for 1.05.

We also had other folks come to the ramp at the end of the day asking info about membership. So I'm looking for this to be a great year for the Tennessee district.

Our next tourney is on Nickajack on February 21 and we will launch from the Marion County Park ramp at safe daylight. If you have any questions feel free to give Dave a call at 931-235-6216

The above was provided by Dave Lowery our Director....I can tell ya'll that this was another wicked day for Tims Ford...all the fish I caught (5) total where caught in the first 2 hours on a shaky head...never got a bit on a jig or crank...the Gentleman tha tcaught 17 pounds last weekend had only one keeper...nice to confirm its not just me... emoThanks

Good deal Jake. It took 19 pounds to win Sunday morning. Glad you had a good turnout. I hope this trail grows for you guys.

Jake thanks for getting this on for me. I guess it just took a little longer for my registration to go through. I would like to invite everyone on the Chattanooga side of the Mountain to join us for our Feb. 21 on Nickajack out of the Marion County Park. I've got fliers up at R&R and Anchor Inn. It is an open tourney to give everyone a chance to give us a try and see if they want to join up. Feel free to give me a call at 931-235-6216 or email me at [email protected] if you have any questions.

David Lowrie.
