10 adults and 3 juniors braved the rain on Tims Ford Saturday for the 3rd NBT TN tournament of the season. This was an open tourney so we had some faces we hadn't seen before. I hope some of those will come back and and bring some juniors with them.

Brent Sain got his second win in a row with a sack of 5 smallmouth going 18.29. He took home $266 for his efforts. Richard Martinez was second with 4 smallies for 14.76 earning $114. He also had big fish with a 4.40 worth $50. Not in the money but with nice sacks of fish were Chris Oliver with 5 fish for 12.57 and Robert Damron with 5 for 10.35.

Notching his second win in a row on the junior side was Hank Lowrie with 1 smallmouth going 3.21 that was also good for big fish giving him a total of $45. Noel Damron was second but no money with 2 spots for 2.36.

We drew for our Academy Sports + Outdoors gift card and I also gave a way a dinner for 2 from Jim Oliver's Smokehouse in Monteagle that had some extras with it like free fudge and some other items. Juniors received tackle packs and those that hadn't received one already got an Academy cap.

Also everyone got a free food certificate from Sonic thanks to the Monteagle Sonic.

Thanks to Academy Sports + Outdoors and the Smokehouse for the draw prizes. Thanks to Castles' Outdoors in Whitwell for all they do to help me with the tackle packs for the juniors EVERY YEAR ALL YEAR.

Hank and I will be fishing the Castle's Outdoors Tournament this Saturday out of Marion County Park on Nickajack. This is a team open tournament with a $1000 guaranteed first place prize. Entry fee is $80 per boat plus $10 for big fish UNLESS you have a junior age 17 AND UNDER as a member of your team. Then the entry fee is $65 plus $10. You can also fish as a single for $45 plus $10. Hope to see you there.

The next NBT TN tournament is April 23 on Chickamauga out of Chester Frost Park. Blast off is set for safe daylight but that will wiggle some because there are at least 2 other tournaments going out the same day. So we'll figure things out accordingly. We will weigh in at 3:00 pm CENTRAL TIME. That's 4:00 Eastern. That will not change as the other tourneys will be coming in before that so we'll stick with that time to allow everyone else to get out of the way. Hope to see the FULL NBT TN crowd on The Chick!

David.
