Headed over to Nantahala River this AM. Fished from 11:00 to 5:00. River was slightly stained from the rains they had Thurs., but with the front passing & bluebird sky, I think it worked to our advantage. Water up there is still pretty cold & the air temp never got over 40. we worked large weighted nymphs in deeper holes & did really well. My son, Brent & I caught & released over 40 rainbows & browns. Had 1 brown 17" & 1 rainbow 18". Love the fight on a fly rod. Gets dicey when a big trout gets into the current & heads downstream thru rapids. Running over slick boulders is about more than this old man can stand.
