NC trout 11-22

Headed to NC for a little trout fishing around Waynesville, NC. Had a ball, catching & releasing about 35-40 rainbows, browns & brookies on nymphs & streamers between 3 of us. Caught the biggest brookie I've ever caught & the biggest rainbow I've ever had on a fly rod I had to show you guys some pics. These fish are so beautifully marked! What a fight on 5X tippet.

What part of N.C. is waynesville in?I've never heard of it.

Waynesville is about 40 mi. west of Asheville. About 3 hrs. from Chatt.

This stream's headwaters start up about 6000' near the Blue Ridge Pkwy, so it's one of the few that NC stocks brookies in. I think this big male is a holdover from those stockings cause usually recent stockers will have a fin clipped & this guy had all his fins.

Way to Go TR20bh!!!!! Very nice trout and good report. It is nice to get all kinds of reports about different species of fish. That is just one of the strengths of the CFF ---- all types of fishing reports are welcome. I'm going to have to give trout fishing a try one of these days!
