Check on a kit to rebuild it. Nichols marine or any outboard shop should have them or be able to order them for ya. If you take it off, take out the long bolts that hold it together. Make two marks on the out side of the cylinder to make it easier to line up the holes when you put it back together. Check and see if the brushes or wires have come loose. Clean it out and reasemble. I did mine and it was pretty easy. Other wise look on ebay, of course one from ebay might need to be rebuilt too. Good luck
