I realize it's rare that a person would need an attorney after he just had one of the best days in his life, but I do and here's why. Yesterday my stepson, who is 11 and a great kid, told me he wants me to adopt him. All you stepdads out there know what a neat thing this is. I've had him since he was 8 months old and of course in my mind there is no difference between all 4 of them (yes 4!). Anyway, I haven't needed an attorney since I moved here 8 years ago, so if any of yall can recommend someone who can help me get this started I would be very gratefull.

Get Sherry Patty! If Selma is still around and practicing, shes a great one to have!

Trust me...been there done that and HANDS DOWN, the Pattys are the ones you need.

By far the very best family attorney for a matter like that is Leslie McWilliams on Germantown Road. I had a fight on my hands when I took custody of my son Sharkbait from his mother and an abusive Stepfather. I wasn't going to mess around with a "maybe" Lawyer. I shopped around and heard all of what the good Attorneys had to say but went with the very best.

Leslie worked with the best judge in town, Marie Williams, to develop the Parenting Plan adopted by Hamilton County. She wrote the book, so to speak. She knows what to do and how to get it done.

I may not be able to put you on a sure fire fishing hole but you can bank on this info.

Your stepson asking you for adopting him has to be one of the most special moments you will ever experiance in your lifetime. Congratulation to you for being there for that young man.

I could say a lot more but I would probally tear up.

Good luck, David W
