Does anybody have a drag hook they have made that I can borrow tomorrow, kicked a rod off the boat yesterday in shallow water and couldnt find it with dragging a spoon,,or if anybody knows where to buy on,have tried tractor supply, soddy tackle and floyds hardware, thanks

I have made a few, what I call, drag hooks. Large treble hooks with a lead weight cast into the point where the 3 hooks come together. I don't know if I have any left, there was some question if they were legal because people use them to snag Muskies or other game fish.
I'll look around, but I won't be in Chattanooga until Thursday. Not sure how close I'll be to you. I'll send you a PM if I find one.

I've got one I made out of a fish stringer....I tried in deep water but did not have any luck - you are welcome to try it....I will be on Hixson Pike a little after 6:00 today.

I have a metal stringer you can use. I have had good luck with those with all the hooks opened. Ill even loan you a catfish rod you can drag it with.

I've pulled out a couple rods with a metal fish stringer with all the hooks opened up. They work pretty good Doc if there was any line on the rod.

I've had luck with a brick wrapped with trotline cord and treble hooks tied to it. Knocked one over last week and recovered it with about four half-ounce jigs tied inline. Just don't use weedless jigs. Good Luck!

That Old metal fish stranger with all the clips loose and a 12 oz sinker toward the front will get your rod. Use it on a rope tied into the chain. If it hangs onto something on the bottom that will not move, the prongs will straighten so it will come free.. Any type of rigid hook will hang up and make retrieving very difficult. Good luck on finding your rod... LL
