Need help with Bass, 7-11-08 to 7-18-08. Chik, Nick, Watts?

Looking for some help on the chick. I have never fished the lake. Coming down from Virginia 7-11 and renting a house on the lake. I will be staying in Decator, Tn. area. If you want too, I can trade info for some lakes in virginia if you are ever up this way. thanks for any help.

I'm from Bristol and only get down there once or twice a year, but it's hard to beat fishing below the Watts Bar dam to get started with.. You can catch a little of everything there. These CFF guys have always been good to help me... What are you fishing for? That might help get things started.

I have seen some good post on here and I am looking forward to coming down. What color worms work best, I also saw some reports of swimbaits and spinnerbaits being used. What color spinnerbaits and swimbaits, I just need to know what to take, dont want to bring the whole house. Looking for bass but will fish for whatever is biting. Thanks VABASSIN

Stick with your natural colors. Shad colors seem to work the best for me.

Flippin docks in the heat of the day with Green Pumpkin and Watermelon Seed plastics has been my "go-to." Many are fishing swimbaits and spinners deep on ledges and humps. I like the Mattlures Ultimate Bluegill swimbaits and my spinners lately have all been white with some red for the "bleeding" look. Crankbaits i have been sticking to more natural colors and having some decent luck. I hope this helps you out! Good Luck!
