Need Plug Wire Help

I had a plug wire come apart the other day and I am not sure if I can reattach it or if it needs to be replaced. It is on a 40 hp Yamaha 2 stroke. The other 2 plug wires look to be glued into the end that goes into the motor. The end seems to have come loose because the glue separated.

Can I reattach the wire and if so will it affect anything with the running of the motor? The motor was run some, with severe power loss of course, until I discovered the loose connection when I got home. I have not attempted to reconnect and run the engine.

Inside is there like a wood screw sticking out in the center?? I am unfamiliar with Yamaha, but on Mercury, the wires simply screws into the threaded rod sticking out in the center of the plug "tunnel". hope this helps!
