I have a 2009 ,2100 super vee bee line with a 2011,250 pro xs. 12" jack plate. Center of prop shaft is even with the bottom of the pad. Gps 72mph at 5800 rpm. 27 tempest prop. I think that's on the slow side for this rig. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

The motor is set where bunch marine left it when I had some jack plate work done. He did tell me I would probably half to set it up. Just looking for a good starting point.

Might step over to Bass Boat Central's Phoenix and Bumble Bee forums for some setup info. At 5800 you're in the recommended RPM range for that engine. You could possibly drop to a 26 Tempest and still keep out of the limiter. I believe it's around 6000 for that engine. Keep an eye on your water pressure if/when you raise the engine. Should be AT LEAST 15 psi at WOT. Good luck!

Your RPM's are about right. As stated above you might have a little bit to much prop. If your turning 6,000 you might get a few more MPH's

bees are fun to get set up. with the long nose and deck extensions they have a little trouble getting up on the 3rd pad and staying there. You might try raising the engine about a inch and see where that gets you but i would bet the prop will slip, but the rpms should come up. if it does you might have to have that prop worked a little and some more cup put in the blades to hold it tight.
I have a 200 pro vee with the extension and a 2.5 200hp and run 71-72 mph at 6200. i am pulling a worked 25 tempest and my stock 25 trophy will run 70 mph at 6100.. good luck

i been doing some thinking.... a buddy of mine had a 2100 with a yamaha hpdi 250.. if memory serves me right he was pulling a 26 yamaha elite prop at 6300 on a 10 inch plate. he was in the mid 70's with a lite load (b4 gps) these bees r funny boats and heavier than they look. i bet u r around 1600 lbs. the lighter you can make the bow the more she will get up.
A 26 tempest might get you where you want to be and i wouldn't be to afraid of 6200 with that engine as long as you dont twist it for extended periods of time. not every prop is equal i have run several different 25 tempest props and not a one acted the same way. the fury props work well on lighter boats so i would shy away from those.
On the plus side you have a heck of a boat with a good dry stable ride and it makes a fantastic fishing boat. you couldnt ask for more boat than you have trust me. mine is a 99 model and i am more then pleased with its performance and fishability.
good luck and let us know how it goes

Thanks for the help guys. I actually dropped the engine today to about 2"below the pad and started playing with it. Gps 73 with two people, fully loaded and half a tank of fuel but I can't drive it for nothing now! Am I to low now?

5900 on rpm. I've owned several bees and haven't had this kind of trouble driving one. May just be out of practice. This is my first one with hydraulic steering though. The only thing that really bothers me is with the extra jack plate on it before I was running 82. I hate to loose that much speed if its capable of doing it.

Sorry I failed to post that info on my first post. When I purchased the boat it had a 12" and a 6" jack plate on it and I was told if I left it set up like this I was going to tear the transome out of the boat. What do u guys think?

So if it had 18 inch setback and was stroking then why not get a 14 inch hydraulic plate and see how it does

Sell the 12 that you have and grab you one up or save for one that's what I would do if it was mine for sure
