Wrechin2 is busy busy, I already PM'd him a few times. Will be a couple weeks before he can think about penciling me in.
Does anyone have suggestions on who else can do quality work at fair prices? I'd really like to have something I can schedule on my calendar.
Here's what I can tell you about it so far:
I have had it out twice with no problems running it wide open on a 17.5' ranger.
Before I took it out the fuel lines, filters, and bulb have been replaced with alcohol resistant.
Drained the fuel tank, added fresh ethanol gas with 2 cycle oil, quickleen and ethanol treatment.
Drained and replaced LU oil.
Last weekend I took it out with my folks and getting off the boat ramp was fine. I had it in reverse and backed out into open water when I heard a clunk and then pretty much stopped moving while still in reverse. I put it in forward and got back to the dock fine at low speed. I used the trolling motor to get us away from the dock but after that we couldnt get the motor running good. It sounded rough like it wanted to die. Put it in forward and it would sputter and die. My dad, who's no mechanic but pretty handy with cars, messed with it for a good while and was finally able to get it running only a few miles an hour. He had to baby the thing to get us back up river and we only got halfway back to the ramp. I had to get up on the rocks pull it with a rope until we were out of the current enough to use the trolling motor. LOL my 12v motorguide probably wont be putting in at Rivermont anymore.
Help is appreciated!
