i have a '99 21ft stratos ss extreme 225hp evinrude and need to know what adjustments i should make on my 12 inch slidemaster jackplate to get it to come out of the hole has zero holeshot any help would be great

I think that should be about right for that boat. Im running a 26 raker II which is a 3 blade and it comes out pretty. I would run it by Boats and motors of dalton and ask them they can fix you up

i just need to find out how low i should lower my jackplate i dont wanna take it somewhere it may cost money to answer a question and make an adjustment

im gonna lower it and go through trial and error i guess try and figure out where it should be

start at the bottom and watch the rpms and water pressure.let go up with it about one eighth of a inch at a time.that is what he told me to do with mine.

Start at about 3 to 3 1/2 inches below the pad. What RPM's are you getting out of that prop at WOT? I also think you have way too much setback on the jackplate. Six or eight inches is all you need on a Stratos.

when i adjust my jackplate back down i think it will be right but when i had it a 1/2 inch from the top with that trophy plus 25 pitch i was getting 5100rpm and now that i put a 23 pitch 4 blade renegade on it i get 5700-5800rpm out of it

tundra002 - 6/4/2011 12:22 PM and i found his number but what he told me didnt really help

Sorry my advice was not helpful on setting up the jackplate. Like I stated on the phone that engine should be pulling a larger prop than a 23 with no problem. You may find that you have mechanical issues, linkage issues,or someone has done some swapping of the cowl or powerhead and you don't have a 225. Here isa page from BBC andthere are a few 21SS on there with 225HP on them and they arerunning 24-28 pitch props. Hope this helps.</p>

Wrenchin is correct the boat should turn a 25 trophy or 24 raker with no problem
this boat was part of a hull recall not all of them got done because of the first stratos bankruptcy.
do you know if this boat got the recall, if it did not get the recall done this could be the problem how long have you owned the boat

well i lowered the jackplate back down and now i have a good holeshot and it handles good so im leavin it like it is thanks for everyones help
