I'm having some trouble with my bullet boat last time I took it out right when I backed it in the water it wouldn't turn over at all like it wasn't getting any power, I put it in forward then reverse then back to neutral and it cranked up, I continued fishing doing the same thing every time I cranked back up (putting in forward, reverse, neutral) and was able to get power after a couple of tries, when I got back to ramp I went to crank up and no power again I fiddled with it about an hour and never could get it to power back up so I used trolling motor to get on trailer, when I got home I turned key over and had power again, yea pretty frustrating. I think it's something hopefully pretty simple like a bad ground or possible safety neutral switch but I'm pretty clueless on electrical issues and outboard too. If anyone could refer me to anyone or anyone on here could help that would be great that would be great not being on the water is killing me lol. Thanks!

Yes it does when it is started but when it is not cranked it will sometimes feel like it's not clicking into neutral correctly.i really feel like it is a ground wire issue and the reason I think that is because when I get it started the rpm gas and fuel gauges will fluctuate back and forth and the lights on the gauges will come on and off as well, but like I said I'm pretty clueless about this stuff and about all the info I've got on it came from Google haha

Make sure all the connects are tight. Start at the battery and work your way to the fuse panel if it has one. If moving the shifter helps you have a bad neutral switch or the connection may be loose at the switch. Also, make sure the battery terminals are clean.

Ok thanks I have checked connections everything seems tight, I have also cleaned the terminals. The only reason I don't believe it is safety neutral switch is because when I turn the key over I should still be getting the beep even if it is in forward or reverse and I am not. Where exactly is the "switch" I'm guessing it's behind the throttle somewhere?

Hey fischnrod I think you may be right the trim switch on throttle is working right now and the key is beeping when I turn over but I remember when I was out there the other day the trim switch wasn't working while I was broke down. I just never really put two and two together since I always use trim switch in steering wheel to trim. How could I go about testing that and fixing?

Take the handle apart is the best way because you may have to replace that switch anyway. Just take your time and watch closely how it comes apart. The problem I had was one of the wires on the switch had come off and was making contact with another terminal on the switch and sometimes a direct ground to a metal plate behind the handle

Well checked trim switch everything looked good so back to square one. Going to take my boat to a guy in the morning hopefully he can get me squared away. Thanks for the help though guys!

Well I took my boat to j&j marina in cleveland and had Jeff take a look at it. I told him what it was doing, he unplugged the main connection on the motor cleaned it real good, plugged it back up and sent me on my way. I've taken it out three times since then (knock on wood) without any problems. If y'all ever have any issues with your boat I defiantly suggest taking it to Jeff he is the man!
