New Ads....

Wow I have already seen at least three new ad banners. These new guys move pretty quickly. I sure hope our local sponsors have priority over some of these bigger companies.

Saw several myself, just got to remember that the adds are what keeps it going. I noticed that the local adds are staying on top for now. Thanks to all the local sponsers for staying in there.! Be sure to support the sponsers by ckicking on their ads also!

Well, I think the new adds wont over power our local sponsers myself. Michael has already expressed that he looks forward to working with them. </p>

I saw an LL Bean add earlier and that is a good thing. Quality company with quality stuff. Hope they are all that good.

Popper don't get too worked up over the cliques. I don't reckon I am in one either and I sleep just fine every night.

Since we are talking somewhat about the ads here I would like to make another observation. Twice now when I have opened the CFF I have clicked on a forum I got a full page ad as though I had clicked on a banner. The first time I thought maybe I inadvertantly clicked on the banner. The second time was just now and I definitely did not click on a banner. I hope this is just a bug that needs to be worked out. Banner ads are fine with me but I want it to be my choice to open them. Has this happened to anyone else?

Britt I reckon we would have quite a "large" group in team fatboy. We would definitely raise the stress level at the chinese buffet if we all went in at the same time. emoBigsmile

Cheezmo, I have not seen the full page ads your talking about. I view the forum on at least 3 different comps every day, with 2 different pop-up blockers and I have not seen one blocked or come up......strange.</p>

Only ad I've seen is the banner ad for the parent co on the bottom. Cheez, check your popup blocker, that should stop that for you. Though I have had a few stuck browser pages when trying to go to my mailbox. But that's probably just server related due to the amount of traffic.
They have a right... they bought it. And change may be scary due to the "unknown". But BBass is right. It's what keeps this thing up and running. I mean, someone else could have bought it and charged a monthly fee just to pay costs. We all pay for internet access and hardware to work on it. This stuff ain't free.... so let the vendors pay for the ads. We still get to do our thing and some get to be in whatever clique we want!!! And if those guys don't make money, they'll sell it or shut it. We are what makes this site... can't hear or say that enough. They need us and we need them in order to keep this site alive.
My wife says WE ALL ARE IN THE SAME CLIQUE!!!! Funny, she was reading everything on here for the first time yesterday when we got home from fishing. Louie sat down and showed her his favorites. I think he showed her every EricM post from the last 1 1/2 yrs!!!!! She hates fishing..... LOL I thought it was great!!! But even she was impressed with the quality of people on this particular web based community.

Guys it is not a popup. It is happening only when I first get on after being off for a few hours. It hapens when I come on and scroll down. It never happened before and I will bet that I'm not the only one it is happening to. I guess it is part of the new deal like it or not. I just don't like it being shoved down my throat. Banners are ok. As a matter of fact I think they are good and I will click on and patronize the ones that have something of interest or that I need. No need for lectures on the need for advertisement. Ads are what pays the bills. They will however kill the greatness of this site and slow the growth if it becomes overwhelming.

I havent seen the first one myself. Maybe run a virus scan Cheez and make sure you dont have anything causing that. </p>
