Hi everyone! I have just moved to town. I live about 5 min. from the chick. dam., which is a huge bonus for me. I started fishing there last week and have already landed an 8.3lb largemouth just below the boat ramp at chatt state on Friday afternoon. I will try and post picks later. I caught it with a rapala rattlin' suspendin' shad rap. It was the second biggest largemouth I have ever caught. I have a 10lb from home (middle tn) maury county. I have caught probably over ten fish that were over 6lbs from the bank in the last three years. I am interested in hooking up with someone with a boat to do some tournament fishing. I have fished since I was in diapers. I am 28 now. I am also ready to try out some of the local small mouth and stripers. I have never fished in an area were good smallies or stripers were present.

here is a pic of the guy that I gave the fish to. He wanted it to eat.

nice fish. Sure wish it would have made it back to the water. I'm sure he put you in a tough spot wanting the fish and all.

emoWelcome There are some big bass around here! Hopefully someone will get a few good meals out of it! I give away some of my fish, but I tell everyone that asks, all LM and SM go back in the water. Thats just me! Somedays, when Im feeling really greedy, I let all my fish go!LOL Some people will beg you to no end if they see you catching alot of fish and that area is well known for it. You caught it and its legal, so that makes it your fish so you can do what you want with it.

Nice fish and maybe will see you on the water! emoToast

$5.00 sez he went home and told his ol lady that he caught it. emoLaugh . I'll give catfish away to the folks on the bank.

Unbelievable to give a largemouth bass that size from the river to someone to eat. That is a king fish on the river, gone. Fish that size need to be allowed to spawn all they can. They already have the best genes to be able to grow to that size.

To each his own I guess, but not from my boat. While I have given catfish, bream, and crappie away, my personal opinion remains that those large bass are too valuable to the ecological success of our fishery to waste.
