Looking to buy a new rod for crappie fishing this winter. What do you guys like? im looking for something in the 6 to 6'6 range around 100 bucks.

Go to Soddy Tackle, these guys are crappie fishermen... You will not be disappointed.

Great folks to deal with !

If you're shooting docks I would get a Shakespeare ultralight at Walmart for 18.95 they are great for shooting docks.

I really like Quantum x36 graphite 2 piece rods that are 5' 6" in length. Great for dock shooting and open water fishing. They run about $35 or so. Not very expensive, but a very good rod with guides that I prefer.

I actually found a Lews Speed Stick/Speed Spin combo on sale at sportsman and so far I really like it at 59.99 it was hard to turn down

Call grizzly jigs co. and see if they have the 6' american rodsmith limit stix crappie rods left. They are 30.00 but good backbone for shooting or casting. Also other places sell B N M sharpshooters but they are 5'6'' long also are good for shooting and casting and cost around 35.00. Grizzly #573-333-9866.

I just got the new B'N'M Sharpshooter Six in and used it all weekend. I was very impressed with it for shooting docks and it was easily able to cast 1/32oz jigs to some Whites busting shad on the surface. I am thinking about ordering another.

I personally have 2 combos I picked up at WM. Zebco SharpShooter. It's a 5'6" light action 2 piece rod and a I would say a 10 series reel. I bought one earlier in the year and it worked out well. I found another on sale recently for $10. Can't beat that with a stick.

I myself will be looking for some 8 10 and 12 foot rods in the near future any suggestions? I'm really leaning towards Lew's.

IMO you cant beat the lews rods for the $$$ I have several now for bass fishing and im sure the 8 10 and 12 footers for crappie would be about the same as far as value for $$$
