I just want to say hi and look forward to talking fishing. If anyone needs any help with local trout waters or fly-fishing problems please let me know. I am a guide for Choo Choo Fly and Tackle and we are always excited to help.

emoWelcome ! Good to see another bug-slinger on here. I bass fish alot as well, but love to hit the streams with the wand when I can. I fish the WNC mountains usually, but I need to drop by your shop & get some info on our E. TN streams.

Do you ever fly fish for smallies.. I think that would be so much fun.. one day when i get rich Id love to get into this

I have not fly fished for smallies in a couple of years but I need to get back into it. catching anything on a fly rod is fun.

I bought a TFO Signiture 8 wt. rod, and a Batteneck, MidArbor reel in Jan. Now that the weather is better, I am going to try and learn how to use it. I am thinking Easter Weekend I may go to Florida and try to catch a Spanish Mac on it. I have found the Fish down there< just need to learn how to use the outfit. How long does it take to get to where, you are good enough to fish with one? Generally speaking of course.

possum- I would recommend a fly casting lesson if you have never casted a fly rod. In order to catch those macs you are going to need to be able to cast atleast fifty to sixty feet. But once you get one on you will have the ride of a life time. I am a guide for Choo Choo fly and tackle and we are putting on free wednesday night casting clinics, so if you are interested give us a call.

If your goin to florida, Id highly recommend going for some redfish back in the bays. Its a blast on the fly!

I will do that this summer in Lafitte, La. Red Fishing is not that great were I go in Florida now. Although St. Marks might be good. Ramfish I may get down there next Wednesday. You guys have any purple toads? Seem to be popular in Florida.
