Jim Miller here. I'm mostly a smallmouth & crappie fishing fan here, but have done it all in a lifetime of fishing. Retired from the State of TN in 2006, work part-time at the airport, and with a marketing company. I don't fish competitively, but just for fun and food. Haven't harvested a bass since 1982. Eat crappie, bluegill, trout.

Look forward to learning a lot here and meeting some locals who love to fish like me.

Welcome, I have been down here for 11 yrs now and LOVE THE WEATHER< NO ice fishing gear came with me. I guess Im a DAMN YANKEE now. This site is great, Lots of info IF you can believe it all NO most guys welcome you no matter where you came from as long as you fish hunt you are at home Enjoy!!!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Forgot to mention that winter was my favorite time to fish. I used to make quite a few trips to Dale Hollow for some awesome float n fly smallmouth fishing this time a year and even later. I'm from Cleveland, TN so have fished the lower Hiwassee River a lot over the years. Love smallmouth fishing below Wilson Dam in Florence, AL as well where my biggest smallmouth bass was 7lb. 12oz.

Really enjoy all the photos, and it looks like I need to head below the Chickamauga dam for some spots.

I wanna see the picture of that smallmouth 7 12 is a pig!!! Theres some great fishing in florence
welcome and enjoy

It's funny that I had forgotten my camera on that trip, but I flagged down a buddy to take a photo. He thought I was kidding, because they hadn't caught any good fish all week. I'll have to track it down and post it. I also have a nice photo of me with a 6lb 14oz smallie from my first trip I ever made to Pickwick in 1982. I have been incredibly lucky at Pickwick with many fish over six caught from 1982 to 1992, when my daughter was born. Haven't made those three day trips much since then.

I started fishing the lower hiwassee last spring thru fall. I really is a great fishery. I mostly fish around harrison and up in the dayton area, but not in the same day. welcome
