New Humminbird

Just got a new Humminbird 998C SI. Any tips or tricks to installation? Or, does it install just like any other depth finder? Going on a Alumacraft Navigator 165, 2000 year model.

if you have the si make sure you mount the transducer to where it can shoot side to side without any thing in its way or down below the other transducer will mount just like any other puck hope this helps

Thanks! It does help since I hadn't even thought about that. I will have to mount this one a little lower on the back than my other one.

I hope your instal goes smooth. I mounted my transducer in the same spot as my old garmin transducer just about an inch lower and have great reading as long as I don't get more than 6 inches of chop on the water. I love my 898 and know you will love your unit.

Thanks. Boat is still in the shop getting new motor-upgrading to 4 stroke. Hope to get it back today or tomorrow. Can't wait to get the Humminbird installed and try it out. Will have 2001, 70 hp 2 stroke Johnson for sale when I get the boat back if anyone is interested.
