Just wanted to say hey and introduce myself.
Just getting into fishing at the young age of 48, i fished creeks and ponds as a kid but never caught anything more than a few bream. I am looking forward to learning from you guys and hopefully meeting a few and making new friends. I retired from the military 4 years ago and have plenty of time to learn a new sport. Never fished a TX, never caught a crappie (something i am wanting to do real bad) never had a day fishing where we caught more than 6 or 8 fish (looking for that day where you just keep catching and catching and catching).
I have been lurking on the forum for a few weeks now and like what i am seeing so decided to join up and see what happens. Again, hello to all and looking forward to learning from the guys who know.

Welcome to the forum.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for one day. Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.- Unknown

havent been in the forum long myself, but it a great place and a wonderfull bunch of guys and girls welcome!!

Thanks for the big welcome. I have been reading lots of past fishing reports trying to learn about crappie. Lots of good reading, makes me wish i was fishing now till i step outside and feel the heat. If anyone has some good pointers for a newb send them my way.

Welcome to a great forum and thanks for your military service. I retired from the Navy back in 2000. I started bass fishing and Tx fishing three years ago at the young age of 54. I find Tx fishing as frustrating, challenging, and rewarding as any thing I've attempted except maybe golf is more frustrating. I live down in Summerville Ga and fish Weiss as my home lake. This forum has some great info for Chickamauga Lake and Nickajack Lake and has many members that are willing to help you get better at fishing.
