I'm fairly new to fishing and trying to learn everything that I can. I fished a little as a kid but not much. I recently bought an '86 Glasstream bassboat, and have been fishing the Chickamauga Dam and Wolftever areas. Once I caught my first Bass I was hooked. Any advise for a fisherman new to bass fishing?

just keep fishing and talk to people at ramps and on here. you will be a know-it-all in no time

Better not fish any tournaments, 1st time you get a sniff of some money for fishing you will really be hooked! I think the drugs would be cheaper for me!

I tell you what, I've bass fished for years but I love watching educational and how-to stuff. Get on YOUTUBE and type in, for instance, Bass fishing with a JIg....or type fishing with crankbaits, spinnerbaits, you name it. You can watch videos, it helps. One thing you'll find, everyone will have an answer on how to, because everyone has their own way that works. There are a few rules of thumb, but hey, I done things the top pros have advised under the most similar conditions many times - nothing. Its any given day with any given lure...difficult sometimes....but if it was easy all the time it wouldnt be fishing....just catching. Have fun. Say Hi if you see me on the water - White nitro 640lx - black hull.

Welcome to C.F.F..
The only advice I have for a fishing tip as follows.
When Your line is tight and Your rod is bent fight the fish to the very end. Once in the boat and in the livewell, sit down take a deep breath and let out a yell. Don't forget the most important part, Give Thanks to our Father for the fish reward.
Happy fishing and welcome friend Remember how You landed the fish and do it again.
