Hello to all. This is my first post after signing up. All I have to say is wow, there is alot of valuable information on here!! I purchased a St. Croix rod back in Feb @ Sportsmans (love that place) and went to a buddies house the other day to go fishing behind his house. Got my rod out of the truck leaned it up in the door crevice, grabbed my tackle box and started to walk away and slammed the door shut on my rod. I was sick emoBang . Called St. Croix they were really nice about it, said to send in the model # and they would give me 50% off of a new rod valued at the same price. I was very glad to hear that. Anyway thought I would join on in and make my first post. Looking forward to getting to know each one of you.

emoWelcome GregB. This is a great bunch of anglers on here and we are always looking for a few more to join in on the fun.emoCool Jmax

Welcome aboard mate , I am sort of new myself ! I have only been on the cff for a couple of months. I have broke about 5 rods total , 3 of them over my 1st couple of years fishing and then after 18 years and thinking I know what I am doing I break two in one week !emoHoppingmad I do understand that sick feeling though , it aint good .emoFish emoWelcome

Great to have you on the forum Greg. Welcome!emoWelcome That is also good information about St. Croix. I just got through buying one and really love it.

St. Croix is a GREAT rod... I wish I could afford more of them. Of course if one breaks under "normal use," they replace entirely. I'm pleased to hear they give you a pretty good break even when you're stupid. emoBigsmile JUST KIDDING! I know I shouldn't be mean to the new folks. emoWelcome and I'm sure your next post will be under happier circumstances.

Welcome.

What a way to get started!!! I was hoping to see you posting an eight pounder from your friends pond rather than that. I sure hope that your posts start reflecting some good stuff from here on.. Glad to have you as a fellow CFFer.

Welcome!!!

Well Howdy There!

Don't feel all alone on the rod. I had found a rod that I liked and my wife made a special trip to get it for me for my birthday. About a month later I put it and another in the back of my truck and also a boat gas tank and went to the store to get gas. I hit the brakes and you know the rest--two at the same time. It's sickening I know. The replacement sounds good though. Bet you don't lean a rod there again just like I don't put them in the truck with gas tanks.

I feel your pain. About 2 or 3 years ago I hooked a good largemouth in a small boat and as I was fighting him my feet seemed to find 2 rods laying in the boat. Broke a few inches off of each rod. And get this, the pole with the fish on it, broke the tip off it too. How is that for luck.

Welcome on board GregBemoWelcome . I hate to hear about the rodemoSorry. I've not shut one in the door"YET" but I have broke a few by catching them under anchor cleats emoMad. I hope your next post is a better one.

Welcome! I just fished in the Bassmasters Weekend series as a co-angler and broke the one and only spinning pole I brought...OUCH! I hope my tears were not seen by all. From now on, two spinning rods, three baitcasters.....

I'm a clutz for the ages.. I do stuff like that all the time. When I was looking at casting rods, I was looking at some expensive models when My wife said, His one is in destructable. Ended up buying cause of it's warenty. 6.5' zebco rhino. I'll prolly break it in a 6 month period. :)

Welcome to the boards. It's full of the best east TN and N GA have to offer!
