<font size="3" face="georgia, palatino">A proposed new Sandhill Crane season passed through committee yesterday afternoon in Knoxville. The vote of the complete TWRA Commission should happen today. It looks like the new season will be a part of Tennessee hunts for the next three years at least.</font></p>

I would think they would have a higher quota than 400. Every ag field from dayton to decatur is full of em in february. What do you do with one when you kill it?...crane noodle soup, crane fingers, crane pot pie?

Butterfly and grill em up just like venison...except better!

They call it the ribeye of the sky for a reason. I believe 400 people will be drawn and each person gets 3 tags for the season. So 1200 birds total.

Really. Sounds good. I hope you all get tags!

The bunny huggers should be thankful that our money is going to provide a resource they can enjoy. One thing they didn't comprehend was the birds will "flock" to the refuge (for public viewing) as soon as they are lit up on private land.

They are known in Texas as the ribeye of the sky. I have never eaten one, but if I can eat a goose that eats sludge from the city... I can eat a horses ass raw. If the Feds believe we need to stack a few then I will happily apply. How many cranes can be harvested by each hunter? One each seems a little silly-

Is this a fact or a CFF Got-cha? There is a reason to promote this as game rather than a Varmint. Can you eat them?</p>
