New State Record Black Crappie???

In todays paper there is a pic of a lady who caught a 4lb 6oz Crappie in Marion County. The fish looks to me as a black crappie, and the current state record is 4lbs 4oz. That would be a new state record!!!

Me and Doc were fishing near there the same weekend, and were checked by TWRA. We asked about it, having heard the story, and it was confirmed by the two officers, but it was never verified by the state, so it will NOT be a new record. The woman was fishing for meat, so it took a hot oil bath that night. Leaves hope for the rest of us!
