I use to fish tournaments in the late 70's early 80's with a bass club out of state, retiring to start a family, but wanted to return to bass fishing soon as the family was going well. Well I didn't know if was going to take 25 years to get back into it but it happened. I recently purchased a serviceable boat with a 150 and have all the kinks worked out, geared up and ready to go but I have problems finding bass in quantity.

I'm having trouble finding fish around Harrison bay, Chester Frost, Patterson Island areas. I'm fishing texas rigged Lizards, monster worms for bottom fishing. I fish spinner baits, buzz baits, torpedos, non fat shad cranks. I have fished the channel edges, shallow points, deep points, grass lines, I notice the schooling fish and throw everything in the tackle box at them but I can't get them to strike.. I have went into wolftever creek, and fished it extensively. I have caught a few, but the numbers are light when figuring the time spent to catch them. I see a lot of fish on the fish finder but they seem to be asleep. I did catch a 5-1/2 lb large mouth in Chester Frost on my first fishing experience with the new boat but it has been slow since, only boating an average of two fish per outing.

If anyone has some suggestions that could improve my experience, then I would be most appreciative of your advice. I look forward to posting more in the future.

Thanks

emoWelcome emoWelcome welcome to CFF,You are fishing the right areas but the fish get finicky at times flats and ledges are always good but somedays you have to fish real slow and the bite is light ,thanks for joining and keep after them

welcome. The bass are getting ready to start schooling heavily. 1/8 crappie jig works well in the jumps when they are being tight lipped. that works for me any way. good luck
