Hi guys,

My names Heath and I'm just starting to fish the Chattanooga area. I grew up in south Florida and fished everyday, but when I moved here 14 years ago I stopped for some reason. Anyway I've taken up this amazing hobby again. My fishing partner moved to Charlotte about a month ago. We had mostly fly fished the hiawasee this last summer and im afraid I don't know many other places to go. I'd like to try bass or cat fishing in the area.

Does anyone have recommendations on spots I could fish within 30 or 45 minutes of downtown? Unfortunately I don't have a boat but I imagine there's some places I can fish from the shore. If anyone has some ideas or is going fishing let me know and we'll meet up. I'm happy to pay for gas or bring lunch.

Thanks

Try along the river below the dam. Or you could go above the dam to the lake side and fish any of the parks. Booker T off of hwy 58 is good bank fishing and close to downtown. Welcome aboard

As far as bank fishing, like mentioned above any of the parks are good. I also like Booker T best, but hiking the trails and fishing at Harrison Bay is a blast. I used to do it 6 days a week a couple summers ago.
