I've been reading fishing reports on the site for years but have just recently joined as a member. i lived in alaska for a couple of years and visit for a mmonth every summer to get a little fly fishing action in, does anyone know if the trout in lake junior are still active or is it too warm? i've been workin every weekend and havent got a chance to make it out there.

Open to fishing Fri, Sat , and Sunday only .. Lake Junior is only stocked in Jan And Feb there are most likey some trout still left in Jr.. North Chick creek was stocked this week and will be stocked again on the 6th of April and the 20th.. the stock in several places one for sure is the bridge going over the creek at Thrasher Pike off of 27.. which is a couple blocks from my house.

Oh and no Lake Jr is not too warm yet .. it will be prob end of may b4 starts getting too warm for the trout to survive .. though it will be hard to find any that have not yet been caught by then

Welcome! A guy I work with goes every weekend with a canoe, and gets a limit, so I guess there are still enough to catch in there. Go fish, take pics, and post them here!!!</p>

Thanks everyone for bein so helpful! ill have to go out and give it a try i dont work sunday so you can count on me bein there. hows the fishin in N. Chick Creek, ive heard it was stocked and i fished it at greenway farm once but only caught brim...no trout, ill have to give that place a try as well

You could always go over to Hiawassee River at Reliance TN, its stocked weekly year round, and is full of trout . Its about 50 miles from Chattanooga.
And it Has the potential to catch some big trout too.

If you havent been there before, take I-75 north coming from Chattanooga,
take the first Cleveland Exit US-74 E/ APD 40 via EXIT 20 toward CLEVELAND/ US-11/ CHEROKEE NATIONAL FOREST. Take the US-64 E ramp toward OCOEE. to US-74 E/ OLD COPPER RD. Turn LEFT onto TN-30. to Reliance, TN At reliance, cross the bridge over the river , follow the road around there will be signs marking the power house ... from the bridge up to the power house is stocked.

More water than you can cover in one day! If you wade in river, where a life jacket, the river rises quickly when they start generating power, and wear felt soled waders, those rocks are slippery, and will slice you like a knife, I know from experience. You can canoe or use belly boat tubes, but canoing is only recommended if you have some white water experience when the water is up, at low water periods its fairly easy going.

There is a trophy section that is artificial lures only, if you stop at the tackle shop on the river they will give you more info on the river

here is the generation schedule http://www.lakeinfo.tva.gov/htbin/lakeinfo?site=HIH&DataType=All&submit=View+info
