Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Chattanooga and glad I found this site. I'm an avid fly fisherman but use my fly rod for all kinds of fish. Looking for suggestions on lakes and rivers close to Chattanooga where I can float or wade.
Thanks so much for any suggestions

emoWelcome I know nothing about the Chatt fishery, except it is good. And I know even less about Flyfishing. I always use a fly swatter emoPoke

emoWelcome to chattanooga and to the cff . the hiwassee river up around benton is an excellent river for trout to float tube plus it has lots of good tribs for wading. up farther north the telico is pretty good. around the blueridge ga area there are numerous rivers and streams . in and around chattanooga you have the north chick creek ( feeds in right beside the dam) that wanders through the hixon area. around ooltewah there are some sections of upper wolftevier that are accessible but a little tight for a fly rod.
there is also lake jr off of amnicola hwy close to the dam but i think its only open on weekends.

emoWelcome I live about five minutes from the dam on Lake Blue Ridge. If you come down this far, you can fish below the dam and wear them out.(trout). If your this way just give me a haller and will try to hook up with ya. ;)

welcome to CFF! i have a fly rod but i can't get that thing to cast much more than twice the length of the rod for the life of me. i might have to hit you up for some fly casting tips sometime.

unfortunately lake jr is only open from jan 1 to apr 30, only on friday, sat, sunday. but there are some good fish in there! i've waded in there some, and seen some BIG bass, and average trout. i drive by there on my way to work everyday wishing it were open more.

Thanks much for the information, I'll try up around Benton. Might be able to talk my wife into dropping me off up river and picking me up at the other end.

Any suggestions on where I might put in....I have float tube and boat.

Thanks again
