Hey guys I just moved from Austin TX and have't had to learn a new area in years. Well I was big into fishing Tourneys in Austin and I want to continue it here.I want to meet some new guys, and find a good bass club to fish with. Any suggestions? Not really sure what lakes to hit around I want to fish for large mouths and smallies. Thanks for all the help, PS I have my own boat so I have a back seat open!!!!

Depending on where in K town you are located ,you are within an hours drive of 7 different lakes...all of which can be very good at times. And just a little farther from the The Chic , Dale Hollow ,Fontana. You have Loudon, Watts Bar as mainstream TN river lakes and Cherokee, Norris, Douglas, Melton Hill, Fontana ,Tellico as tributary/feeder reservoirs with their own river feeding them. While power generation schedules drive the Bite on the mainstreams much of the year it can also affect the fishing on the tributaries as well. The Chic is as good as any lake in the South right now but all the other lakes offer excellent fishing if you take the time to learn the nuances of each one.
There a few of us 'Northern Intruders" on here that post from time to time and like to venture on" down here" to the Chic when we can....good bunch on here though. Keep reading and you`ll find out some good info about all the different lakes in the area.

Norris is a good lake for Smallies and stripers; deep and clean. Same with the upper end of Tellico; lower end of Tellico meets up with Ft. Loudon which is good for LM. Watts Bar has always been known for Smallies. Cherokee, I don't know much about, but from what I know, it compares to Norris as does Douglas. Douglas has had some FLW touneys on it, as well as the BFL. Oh yeah, don't forget Melton Hill which has LM, Smallies, and I've heard, Pike and Muskies.??? All of those lakes I've mentioned are within an hour of any part of Knoxville.
