when I bought my boat for a give away price, it came with a Evinrude foot control trolling motor. I was always fighting with that thing and could never control the boat as easily as I should have been able to plus it was under powered for my boat . Every time out I would cuss that thing out.
Not really looking to buy, I was always surfing around looking at new ones. Loved the idea of the I-Pilot but too pricey for me.
Main reason it sounded great to me is my head does not turn even a nano-inch - in order to see to the sides or behind me I have to turn my whole body.
I liked trolling and using my downrigger with the trolling motor, so with the poles on the stern and me in the bow, I had to use a rear view mirror to control the boat plus see my poles - not very convenient.
So surfing around I came across a Motorguide W75 - a wireless trolling motor. Seemed even better than I-Pilot for me in a way. With that i could just stay in the stern but still control the trolling motor.
Ran across a factory refurbished one on ebay for $554.00 shipped to my door. Read a bunch of reviews on it and tho it seemed some people had some problems with them, the vast majority of people loved them.
Shouldn't have but i could not help myself.
Bought it on ebay Tuesday, UPS guy just dropped it off.
Weather will be bad here for a few days so do not know when i will get it installed, but I can not wait. Should be able to pull my boat around with no problems (a 19' fish and ski) and no more messing with that Evinrude foot control that was always such a pain.
Once i get her installed and try it out I will give my thoughts on it.

well actually, yes I will be. To be honest (I always try to be anyway), I have zero idea what it is worth as I have never checked on it.
Since I would need to talk about this in the for sale section, I will continue it there so not to break any rules,

I have the W55 and for my needs, it works great. For a bass or crappie fisherman working banks, docks etc, its SUCKS. But I dont do that type of fishing though. My boat is a 24' pontoon, so your 75 should be great for your needs. I did have an issue with mine, bought it new and the transmission had a short in it. I had it replaced under warranty this year, and it seems to work great. Good luck with it!

oh no, that is not what i want to hear.....while no good yet, I consider myself a bass and crappie angler
Is it because of the extra "on" button you have to push ? I was sort of wondering about that and had read a few people complain about that, some even saying they would forget to turn it off. If that is the reason, I also picked up the hand held remote thinking it might be even easier (I also can't bend my head to look down very easy - when I say my spine is fused I am not kidding). Again if that is the reason, hoping after a few hours of playing around with it my fingers (or feet) will get accustomed to making that extra tap on or off - be honest it is a pretty hefty investment for me so no matter what I am going to have to learn to live with it and if need be, when I happen to be watching tv or something will sit there "playing" with the remote to get the muscle memory needed ingrained.
If that is not the reason, would love to know why ?

wiggles - I listed the motor in the classifieds for $75.00 or trade if you are interested.
