It would appear that the e-mail scamers that were doing the "You are the winner" or "You are the receiver" of several million dollars and all you have to do is send me $87 dollars to get this sent to you have changed their pitch. One that I just saw for the first time is one where you receive a fake letter from a FBI agent that is supposedly investigating a money laundry fraud case and your name came up and you are going to be charged with money laundry or they are looking at you and need information. Then you receive another letter that is supposedly from a lawyer who is representing people who were taken in by this laundry scam that took place and you can be and need to be represented by this lawyer. Then after a lengthy long official sounding letter they ask you to send a small retainer fee for them to add your name to the list of people who were involved in this case that had no knowledge of it and just happened to be who the scamers used to laundry the money.

To start with the FBI is not going to send you a letter over the e-mail telling you that you are under investigation for money laundering. Second don't ever send money to someone based on a e-mail. For that matter don't ever send information to someone based on an e-mail. emoDoh Thought I would just send a heads up to all. I like messing with them, I usually send back an e-mail telling them the person they are sending it to has died. Or in this case I might tell them they were already charged, found guilty and are serving time in jail. emoBigsmile Jmax

Also calls from someone saying they are from the IRS demanding payment of overdue taxes. It is reported that this is the biggest scam ever to hit.
