Fished last weekend with two ladys from Birmingham. Amber had fished with me before back in October with her Nephew and on this trip she brought her friend Brandi. We got started slow and the lid on the bait tank got more squeaky as the day went along. By the end of the day I needed some oil for the lid. The wind made it tough on us as well as the cold front that had blown in the day before. But we made the best of the day that we could free lining shad around current breaks and drop offs. They caught approx. 30 fish really no big fish to speak of. All the fish seemed to be around the 2 ½ and 3lb range. Lost a lot of fish (as many as they caught) right at the boat due to the bait being so big and not letting the fish eat the shad long enough. Amber is wanting to come back for some of those Magnum Drum that stack up behind Nick dam and I may invite her down for the Drum Tx when ever it gets orgainized. She caught a few back in October and liked the fight that those fish can give. I told her she may want to hit the gym to get in shape for those drum before she comes back up here. Water Temp was 56 – 57 deg. F.
Amber did manage to hang a beautiful smallie with some good colors and markings on the fish.
