Fished hard at Nickajack from 4:30 till dark last night. Trolled for stripers in the swift water with NO takers. Water temp was 75F. There were 4 other boats fishing (2 agianst the wall of the dam) and the only thing I saw caught was 4 or 5 small cats. One guy said he caught 3 cats drifting in the current. I did manage to catch 2 largemouth (1lb) while trolling the bank downstream. Maybe the water is still too warm for the stripers to heat up? Anyone know the magic temp maybe striper to begin the fall feeding?
I have that 68F - 72F range in my mind.
