Blazer and I met on the lower Nick to run some old haunts and find a lunker. That was our goal today. I got there "early" and threw topwater without a bite, from shore watching the sun came up. That was one of the first places I ever wet a line when I first moved here. Blazer being one of the ones I fished with most is always awesome to fish with. He's genuine, he's all business on bassin', he's one of the funniest guys you'll ever meet. But if you ain't paying attention, you'll miss half the humor. He kinda sneaks up on ya. emoLaugh
We fished spooks, secret parksville tactics, and spinnerbaits on main point ledges and breaks. We could see fish, but could not get them to take what we were throwing. Saw that water temp on lower lake was 83 all morning. We buzzed up outta there after 30 min of chunkin, to the opposite side of the lake on a mainlake wind blown point. Wind was just starting to ripple the water, a bit more than you like when you are trying to find the spook bite, but Blazer wouldn't give it up easily and we started getting rolls on top. I throwing a minispook, which is rare for me I like the bigger baits, but sized down today. Had a few swipes, but missed. Danny hauled up his first fish and then moved over to another area with wood where he caught a couple of dinks relating to wood on a lizard. Wind is up pretty good now, enough to make running the trolling motor like work.
We hit the RR bed and another long main channel point. He caught a perch. Told him I had just about enough.... the long week of dismal results and getting ruined by Churly last Monday night... made me want to throw in the towel. Danny don't like to hear that so we hit a road bed that is one of his honey holes. First 10 min, he pulls up this keeper, a few slicks and I manage a small one, then along came a school of yella bass that kept me company. Also a few little bitty bass were nailing the Trap today. I spared you all the pics of the yella bass! But the pic of this little bass pretty much sums up my day. Can't believe it when a little bitty bass slams a bait 1/2 it's size...
I threw a tx worm most of the day and notta. Great day to be out with Danny!!!! Sorry we didn't get on the fish today buddy. Friends like Danny are dang hard to come by... You are gonna be missed a great deal Danny!!!

Good report NA.

I know what you mean about Danny being stubborn & tenacious! I have fished with him many times. He keeps you out there for days and always keeps his guest/victims a pack of Nabs and a sip of waterin the box so he won't get arrested for neglegent homicide! emoBigsmile

Glad y'all got onsome of hisfish there.

Blazer inflicts countless moments of pain. He has a rule or something his boat, that if his partner sits down to retie or tie on another lure, he catches a magnum bass just to rub it in. He likes to flop them in your lap or better yet, "hey grab the net while you're down there...." He relishes those moments most of all! Oh yeah, sorry you didn't catch your prerequisite catfish yesterday too! Forgot about that....
