Jerdog and I took his boat below Nickajack Dam tonight from 6:30pm-9:30pm. It was cold and windy. Water temp was 53. We fished the ramp area, the lock, the flood gates, and the boils...basically wherever the 15-20 mph winds would blow us... We fished minnow tipped jigs, shad lures, and spoon jigs. It was a tough night for fishing. We marked some scattered fish in a few spots we drifted over and missed a couple. The only fish landed was a 7-8lb Buffalo on a spoon jig. Tonight the fish were just not on, but the sky was clear and we were the only boat out there. They can't all be great trips but you have to go when you can... Looks like rain and wind all weekend or I would be up early Saturday going back for more.
