We drowned several of Jack's shiners in Nickajack today; that's about all we did. Caught two smallmouth, one spot, three gizzard shad, one largemouth, and two huge bluegill. Put in around 1pm and fished til almost dark. The current is severe with all the spilling at Chickamauga; went with extra split shot, but it didn't have much effect. Going to have to let the river settle out a little. The water color was pretty good, but there was a lot of junk floating down the river. Wouldn't want to be running the river after dark right now. The weather was beautiful with little or no wind.

Oh Man! That's one of the best "Subject Lines" I've seen in a while... or one of the worst. I'm not sure which. emoScratch emoBigsmile

Thanks for the report enmreal. When I saw your name and the title I was thinking either a terrible accident or time for crappie trolling, I figure those big smallmouth make you want to go back for more! :)

Don't worry DHaun, the freezer is getting close to empty. I will be replenishing right after duck season ends. That New Years day foray was pretty fun though. I could get use to fishing for smallmouth; just won't be eating them. Crappie and bluegill and shellcrackers are my mainstay when it comes to eating fish.
