I am going to the nickajack (up around the bennett lake area) to do some bass fishing tuesday. I have not been there but once and that was about 8 years ago, so i was hoping for any advice yall might be willing to share. as far as what structure to look for, what are they baits are they hitting right now (artificial lures). any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

I fished there today and it was slow. There's tons of grass every where. I had several blow ups on a frog, but couldn't connect. Finally got on some schooling fish down river on a sammy. Also had one flipping a heavy jig in the grass. Look for the mats that are close to deep water, most of our blow ups came near the edges of the grass where i began thinning out. Leave us a report!

Ive fished it several times this year and Churlys right, the grass is everywhere! Most of my luck has been with frogs and lizards on the grass mats. I took a Rage frog and C-rigged it just to try something new and wore them out a couple weeks ago. Left about an 18 inch lead and used it to flutter the frog on top of the mats. It was awesome! Other than that, jigs and flukes have worked well up there for me. Ive caught some good ones on a few docks in 10-12 ft of water. And Ive caught some good'ns right at Sullivans lately as well. Hope this helps!
