Nickajack Ramp

Can anyone tell me about the ramp below Raccoon Mtn. on Nickajack. I need to know approx. size of parking area and type and quality of the ramp. I am trying to find a ramp, mid-lake that can handle a small 10 -15 boat tournament in early feb.....

Racoon Mtn is a nice ramp with good parking and an incredible view of the river gorge. Easily room for 10-15 boats. Its bigger than the RiverPark ramp upstream and has never been crowded when I have launched there...Should be plenty of space in Feb.

This ramp's parking lot also has security cameras.

I haven't been down that way in years. Can you give me breif/short directions how to get to the boatramp? Thanks.

If you come from marion county, go east towards chattanooga on 24. Get off at the cummings hwy exit, its the same exit where the highway patrol station is. When you get off the interstate turn left on cummings hwy. Go do about 3 or so milles and you will see the signs saying racoon pump station on your right. Turn right, and follow the road out untill you get to the ramp on your left.

The only problem with the ramp is that it's super steep. I have problems getting my boat back on the trailer. The trolling motor and the bow stop interfear with each other. But other than that great parking lot etc.

I would suggest Sullivans it's only 5 or 6 miles down river.
