As promised here is the report:

We had 10 boats fishing MidSouth Bassmaster's opening event on Nickajack yesterday. each boat weighed in at least a keeper. 1st- 15.5, 2nd- 11.2, 3rd 9.6.

It was a real tough day for my partner and i. he had a real good one break off at the edge of the net early in the day. We tried to catch the fish we have been catching for the past month on traps and jerkbaits. At about 1:00 I finally caught one that would keep on a red trap. We finally decided that the big fish must have backed off to deeper water so we backed off to about 10ft. and started working slow. I bounced an amber grub with a 1/8oz. standup head along the tops of the grass and picked up another keeper. Then at about 2:15 I landed a 4.80lb LM. We probably could have done better if we would have done this sooner but oh well it was a great learning experience. Iam still trying to warm up though! I know that cranck baits were a part of the winning teams tactics and I know the second place guys caught theirs on traps and spinnerbaits. Next week we will be on the Chick! Anyone know what won the fight out of Sullivans? Good luck and put em back!

I fished a small company tourney out of shellmound sat morning...Man was is cold..Took 10lbs to win with second coming in around 9 I caught 4 with 3 of them coming off of docks on the river and the last on a kudzu lizard in about 8 ft. of water on a red clay bank.... most of the guys caught theres on plastic, since like churly said the rattletrap pattern has gone to pot.... not a bad day of fishing considering the weather.. seen some guys fishing bennet and mullins but they didnt seem to stay too long in there... i guess most of the fish have gone back a little deeper now....
