Went below Nickajack yesterday evening and dragged around threadfin for striper. The stripers were not around and I did not see anyone else catch any. At one point I hooked a big fish that busted my flouro leader. I made the same drift 2 more times and hooked up again. I ended up landing a big 23lb Drum and when I got it to the boat I noticed it had 2 identical circle hooks in its mouth. One connected to my reel and the other with my floro leader and the remains of a careless knot hanging out of its mouth. I also got on a nice school of fat white bass and caught one on nearly every cast for 20 minutes with a spoon. I had seen CFF member BillDanz earlier that day so I went over to see if he wanted to join the fun. We had a great time on that school of fish. It was nice conversation as we sat and enjoyed the fishing in a couple of G3s! Also great to see Whistler again! Water temp was 56.

Today I took the rest of my threadfin up to Watts Bar. It was a gorgeous day but I could not find any stripers. Fished from mid-lake, to Fuzzys front yard and then to Kingston...and beyond with no luck...water was stained upriver. I was fortunate to cross paths with a fat largemouth in 16ft near JTFs front yard. Nice to meet you today Fuzzy! Water temp was 58-62.

Thanks for the info DHaun. Nice LM. Were you using your Strata spoon or some other brand? Were the whites that you were catching in the current or in an eddie?

Great looking bass. It was nice to talk with you Sat. evening. Thanks for giving us a hollar out there when the whites were schooling.

Polo - I use a 3/4 oz cordell spoon. The whites were in current.
