All right everybody its that time of year to start night fishing for bass. I was wondering what everybody favorite soft bait and color is? mine is a 6" or 8" inch lizard in a june bug color.

mine would be ole monster worms in any variation of red ,or black and blue .sometimes greens

Well, night fishing is something I need to practice at but what is it about worms at night? Why?

Hey Chris, which rod are you using for the heavy spinnerbaits? The Dora or the Boots? I tried one on spongebob yesterday but the tip was too soft!

10" Zoom Ole Monster. The red bug color works much better for me than any other color. Although it's not a soft plastic like you asked, don't leave home without a 1/2 or 3/4 black/red, black/blue, black/chartreuse, neonpurple/neon green spinnerbait with a #5 or #6 black Colorado blade with a black Zoom twin tail trailer. I've been using the Dixie Jig Works brand that Ranger Rob makes for the last 2 years. I'll have one tied on tonight.

I throw a brush hog in black sapphire or in cherryseed. Some nights i throw a huge spinner bait i make. I have even caught fish carolina rigging a black fluke.Depends on the fish and the way they are bitting. emoFish

It would be a tie between a Zoom Magnum lizard in junebug or a 3/4oz War Eagle jig in black-n-blue. As far as the big blades go, I usually spend more time attempting to free them from hang-ups than a fish's lip

Bbass, I dont really know what it is that they love the worms and lizards at night, but i know that they do. I know one thing there is not as much boat traffic to deal with, and that is always a plus. I just overall would rather night fish. To me it is just more exciting.

i'm not sure either, but i think it has to do with the slow movement of the bait and the amount of water moved and they can "feel" it more. and i use huge blades like #7 or #8's at night.

I use Black Cherry, 8" and 10" worms triple twist tail worms, good luck finding these though emoLaugh I modified another bait I found years ago , as far as I know they never came in 8 or 10 inch lengths originally, and if I really want more bulk and jiggle I tread a few strands of black rubber thou the body.
And occasionally inject air into the worm so it floats a little off the bottom. Rigged Carolina style

First I want to challenge you statement that now is the best time to night fish :) I believe that the month of March has the best night fishing, specially the hours of from just after dark till midnight. I always throw a single Colorado blade 1/2oz black/blue spinnerbait.
