i want to try my hand at night fishing for crappie and i have never tried this before so i was wondering if anyone had any tips for me. i will be fishing from the bank , and i have a green light that i can put in the water but i have no idea how deep to set it. i have all kinds of jigs and i plan on gettin some minners. any help would be great.

WELL IF U ARE PLANNIGN TO FISH AT NIGHT USE A SLIP-FLOAT ABOUT 6 TO 7 BUT IF USEING MULTIPLY ROD TRY DIFFERENT DEPTHS TIL U FIND THE FISH..THE LIGHT IT DEPENDS ON THE AREA ADN WAT TYPE OF FLOATIN LIGHT...U SHOULD ALSO USE FLOAT LIGHTS..BUT OTHER THEN THAT U SHOULD B SET IF ANYMORE QUESTIONS MESSAGE ME BACK

I would suggest going to Wolftever Bridge and set up on the outside point (either one). Use lighted slip floats and experiment with depth. When TVA is pulling a little current, this works great. You may want to fish under the bridge also (up close to the bridge pilings) doing the same thing. I don't know if the green light you have will be much help from the bank in this area. I would just take a lantern (especially if you fish under the bridge).
Good luck.
