Night on the golf course 8/1/2006

I went out tonight with a good friend to hit our favorite golf course lake. Started out at a small pond in an office park to kill time until 10 pm. I had some fish blow up on the black buzzbait, but my friend caught 3 over 2 lbs on a black spinnerbait. We got to DH lake golf course and walked down to fish. The lake has some grass that is matted on the surface which can make it tough with buzzbait. About the third cast, had one about a pound. I kept walking and casting parallel to the matted grass that is around the bank. When I got to the end of the first lake, I had caught 7, all were about a pound. I walked to the second lake and hooked up right away with another about a pound. I kept walking and went to a rock point, casted out and another about the same. Then the next six cast produce the six of the same size fish. I walked to the next point and caught four more that were just slicks. I go back to the first lake and right by the clubhouse, I hooked one about two pounds. After a few more casts, I was ready to call it a night. My friend caught 7 with his biggest about a pound. Not a bad night, we had alot of fun and got a good workout doing it. If you want to have some fun, golf courses at night are hard to beat.

Sounds like a fun night out. I have always wanted to try one of them golf course deals but I don't think they allow rednecks, Even after dark! emoLaugh I have a friend who fishes one up near Knoxville and swears its the only way to go! He has two over 7# out of one pond up there. I think he had to make a deal with the grounds keeper tho. (Think he sweeps the sand pits) emoLaugh Still won't say what the deal is but it must be a good one. emoThumbsup

If I counted correctly you were 17 over par..... that's probably a good round...emoCool emoCool I bet you had plenty of fun during the walk...

If you look closely, I have the initials of the golf course in my post. I like to hit it about once a month, and if anyone is interested in going, pm me and I will give details.

I used to sneak into a very famous golf course in Ooltewah, that I think is hosting the NCAA tourney this year...but I'm not naming any names and dont ask me about sliding under the maintence gate next to the fire hall either. We used to go in there at night and catch monster bass. Finally some punks slipped in one night and cleaned out the hospitality shed(ice creams gatorades and beers). I found out b/c the Sheriff that caught me going in told me about it. Needless to say those trips ended for me but I was reminded of those days when I read the post..

How FUN!!! To sneak into a golf course in the middle of the night and catch their bass!!! I think that would be a blast!!! Reminds me of the days I used to skip outta the tents while camping to go skinny dippin' with my girl scout mates!!

Never got caught .. and that made the dippin' that much more fun.

One would think in this day and age though .. security camera's would be very where!!! Of course I don't suppose telling your story to the sheriff would seem like a lie ... especially since you have a fishing pole in your hand.

Oh to be young and reckless again ...
