Rececently embarked on a new way to fish for me.....cat fishing at night........loved the first outing....had a blast....my brother tagged along and caught a 15 pound cat.....it was great. Still learning where to fish but looking forward to the process. I am new to the site and looking forward to reading all there is to read. :)

i went last night and didnt catch a single thing on rod and reel but caught 6 on jugs we chased them alkl over the place

Thanks for the info. By all means let us know how you do. For some reason I never have been able to catch cats at night. It always seemed to me that the bite turned off for some reason when it got dark.

emoWelcome To CFF!!! I have done well at night on limb lines but never too well on rod and reel. I guess I only know how to fish deep water!! emoDoh

hi , im new to the forums and this is the first post i read, and i thought id drop my cat night fishing ideas. Ive found that in the summer, flatheads and blues feed on flats around 5- 10 deep, sand or gravels bottoms seem to produce more fish for me, and for bait i use cut bait, ( shad or lil bluegills). Them pesky channels will occasionaly move onto those flats, but mostly if the flats are near deep water.

Night fishing used to be the only way I would ever fish for cats. Didn't realize they bit just as well during the day until I joined this forum.
