Going to take the plunge, how about some help? What lures? How deep? How to use Lures? Just what ever tips can help.emoThumbsup

I don't fish much at night but I use the same as daytime spinner baits and plastics [with black light] seem to work well. No sunscreen but plenty of OFF or some insect repellent or I became the bug bait. always covered my hat in it to keep them out of my face. Hope this helps.

Dark colors and flourescent line. I like worms, lizards, and other soft plastics that are big and bulky, also use brass and glass for my wieght and bead. I also like dark spinnerbaits with a single colorado or a single willow, slow roll them on main lake flats just a little shallower than you would fish in the daytime. Dark colored topwaters such as buzzbaits, or my favorite, a black jitterbug. No insect repellent, since it repels fish better than bugs. I usually go after the insects have swarmed, and what I mean is about 10 or 11 at night the mosquitoes slow down their assault. I do ok on a full moon, but do better on a new moon when it is darkest. The last thing is a black light which lights up flouro line so you can detect bites.

The clearer the water the better. Use bigger blades on your spinnerbaits, usually a single 5 to 7 colorado blade is the best. Dark colors usually rule in plastics, jigs, sb, and cranks. Move more toward the daytime colors and baits the brighter the moon. Noise and rattles make all the difference. Know the banks/structure your fishin', do your exploring/scoutin' before dark.

Now go fish and be careful,

Jon

I like black skirt spinnerbaits with a single large black colorado blade. Sometimes I dip about a 1/4" of the skirt in red spike-it for contrast.Dark colored worms, such as grape or black, have produced best for me when using plastics. Full moon has been more productive but I've caught bass when I could hardly see my hand in front of me. Try a worm rattle on those real dark nights.

There's nothing as peaceful to me as night time fishing. Hope you catch a bunch!

Big Jigs, Spinnerbaits, 12 inch worms. Fishing is def better when it is very dark (new moon). Full moon isnt as productive in my areas. If the moon is up fish the dark banks. Slow roll than big thuming spinnerbait. Youll get bit.

Big black spinner baits and 10 inch or better black worms. If that doesn't work try a big black spinner bait and a 10 inch or better black worm. Did I mention a big black spinner bait and a 10 inch or better black worm?emoBigsmile Jmax

I would think that whatever makes noise in the water would work... Spinerbaits, crankbaits, T-rigs... Just any lure that makes noise I guess, because I'm not sure if the fish can see in the dark especially when they are in the water.

You could probably use a garlic scent that the bass like on your lures too.

<font color="#ff0033">I like to fish at  night with a black hair jig/pork chunk. Spinning rod with 8# test line...black light.  Nice and slow and easy....have caught lots of fish on the Watts Bar and Chick this way...it can be a killer.  Of course, the black spinner bait will always work...  hope you catch a big'un.... Black hair jig with a chunk has brought me my best fish at night. Shallow or deep any kind of cover or docks. I fish it the same as plastics.
