Hey Yall.
I have been noticeing most folks run wideopen in the dark. I have a time or two when the moon was bright, but for the most part it makes me nervous. But I started thinking(bad idea I know) maybe at high speed when little more than the lower unit is in the water, a log or limb might not hit as hard or not at all due to the downforce of water from the pad. I was just wondering what most of yall do, and have experienced. Thanks

I installed two headlights on my boat a few years ago and can see just like driving a car a night, but I still keep it under 40 or so.Faster than trying to run with a lamp in your hand but still a little dangerous.

I tried that a few times but those logs and stuff still come up quick..LOL. Night vision that is..</p>

I think the safest way is just to light up the forward bow as best you can. I run my headlights with one in front of the boat and the other out a bit to light up the buoys. I do not run wide open unless its a great night with a full moon and I still don't run it for long that way. GPS and trail markers are a great thing to have too.
