What a cold morning but we headed north up the lake stopping at first spot threw jigs, square bills, spinner baits and traps and beat ice out of the guides on our rods with no takers. After that stop we new it would be a tough day with bright sunshine and falling water level and very few bites to be had so with that in mind we went to areas that had produced quality bites in the past but we noticed that with the current pulling as hard as it was it reminded me of being on the river so we fished ares that had lots of current and fished the slack water next to the current and the seams knowing that's were the fish would be set up and if they would bite that chances would be it would be quality fish and that was our pattern for the day. At the end of the day we had 7 or 8 bites. Running this pattern allowed us to bring our best three a 7 lb plus and a 5 lb plus and a 2 lb fish to the scales weighing 15 pounds and some change. Enjoyed seeing some old faces as it had been few years since i had fished this tournament. See everyone at the next one.
