My Nikon has developed a problem, therefore I feel it makes no sense to fish. If I caught a HOF, Who would believe it w/o pics?

I know, I know....It's about the fishing experiance. But, you must understand how frustrating it can be to catch an 8lb-7oz LM and not have the camera to show it. That has happened to me.

I haven't been fishing therefore I have not been making fishing reports.

I plan to take my Camera in to see what the deal is with it today. It is not a cheap camera so I just can not abandon it. I do worry about using my big camera in the boat. It is an over-kill for fishing. I looked at a much cheaper, smaller and more compact Nikon Coolpix L12 last night and was very impressed with it. 7MP and a 2.5 view screen in a 3" body for $150.00.

I just may be fishing before the week is out.

Sony DSC-50...use one and you will never go back to anything else. I have 3 Nikon cool pics that I have given my kids, as I cant stand them. You can get a new or like new Sony on eBay for $90-$140.00. I just bought another for the wife this week. My $.02. I will have one with my on Sat if you are there, and will be happy to show you the cam.

LL, look at the Nikon L11 before buying the L12. I have researched both of these as my camera is on it's last leg too. The L11 cycle time is much less than the L12. The L12 takes more than 8 seconds to cycle (between pics) and during that time the screen blanks out so you can't see your shot to "review" it. If you are like me you want to have the option of deleting pics right away so you can take another shot and get the fish back in the water. With the L12 you have to wait at least 8 seconds before you can review it, delete it or change a setting.

It's the dog days of summer. They have his brain dis-combobulated or something like that. At least I have a legitimate excuse for dodging the heat and humidity. emoUpsmile emoUpsmile emoGeezer

Thanks Spurhunter for that Sony info.

Been in touch with a Nikon Tech. Nikon will fix my three year old camera for free and ship it back to me. That made my day when I was informed of that. I love major repairs done for free. I think I'll just go fishing to get some excitement out of my system. That or mow grass.

I can not agree on that lazy stuff, I have been going strong into something every day from I do not remember when.

LL, I came within a heartbeat of posting that we'd not heard from you in a long while and was starting to wonder if you'd gone to FL for more redfish! Good to hear from you!
